Adding your LinkedIn Connections to Clay

0:00 Hey everyone, Hans here, quick video as always, so today someone in the clayslack requested uhm this tutorial, this is Wyatt, so Wyatt this one is for you, uhm this is how you can So, uhm, take your LinkedIn connections and then whenever you have new connections you automatically add them to Clay, and 0:24 then from Clay you can reach out, add them to your CRM, you know, whatever uhm your next step would be. 0:32 For both, both, uhm, I will use Phantom Buster, Big Phantom Buster fan right here. So, uhm, you have their official LinkedIn connections export, which is this one. 0:44 So, imagine you want to set this one up, you just connect to LinkedIn, there you go. Then under behavior, you could say, uhm, how many total number of profiles you want to extract. 0:57 They're saying, you know, do a thousand per day if you're not premium. Uhm, and then if you leave it empty, you know, they'll try it up to two thousand. 1:05 Uhm, and then some are recently added or only three profiles a specific date. Uhm, or, you know, you can request. 1:17 From, uhm, uh, from LinkedIn, you can request like an official, uhm, uh, archive. Or whatever they call it, like an official extract of your connections, that's one option. 1:30 Uhm, so a couple options there, like you could say, okay, every day, you know, get my latest 200 connections or 100. 1:40 Uh, not sure how popular that you are, and then, within Clay, you just enable the auto deduplicate function, so it will just, you know, whenever, imagine that you only got 10 new connections that day, the other 90 duplicates, they will be, uhm, will be removed by Clay. 1:57 So the LinkedIn Connections export is one option, and all you do under launch settings, you hit repeatedly and once per day or however often you want to run that, or you can say only run like on weekdays, for example, all. 2:14 Which, you know, one theory is that people are not active on weekends or whatever, like, right? There's a bunch of options that you have there. 2:21 How I would personally do it, uhm, just to avoid the whole deduplication thing and leave that like to it. To avoid that as early as possible, is that we'll go in here and then you just do a LinkedIn search and you say your first connection. 2:36 So I have about 7.3 thousand. You take this URL, uhm, and then you get the LinkedIn search export phantom. them. 2:45 Thank you. So you paste this URL in there. There we go. Then you connect to LinkedIn. Then, uh, maybe first get a thousand, but they have the option, remove, duplicate, but probably between different sites. 3:01 Searches, um, or watcher mode. And then basically just look for new results. Um, so with those two options, you get rid of the duplicates early on the process. 3:13 And you just have this running in the background to look for new connections all day, every day. Or multiple times per day, um, and then it will add them to Clay. 3:21 What you can do first, get all your connections. So first you launch it, you know, uh, you get, imagine you have 5,000. 3:28 You launch it two times per day, you get 5,000. But then after that, you just enable the duplicate in the watcher mode thing, um, and you launch it every hour because in the end it's only going to scrape a few profiles, right? 3:42 Uh, you might get in trouble with, with how many pages you have on LinkedIn. I would not recommend that, but imagine you're saying, listen, whenever I post, I have a new connection, like in the moment, I want to reach out or add them to my CRM. 3:54 Um, that's one option you can use. Again, it's a, it's a risk, so I wouldn't necessarily take that. But either way, this is how you do that. 4:01 Then here you can play around with this if you want. I'm not going to go into that too much. And then again, like, you know, run this one time per day, that's that, and it will run that. 4:11 Um, so the first time you see I got it launched, it will manually launch it, and then after it will launch it once per day. 4:18 Then within clay you hit pull in leads for Phantom Buster. Uh, if you don't already have your account connected, it will prompt you to, you know, connect to your account, then you can select the, um. 4:29 You know, the agent that, um, uh, that you were using. So for example, LinkedIn, uh, LinkedIn search export, I'm guessing it's that one. 4:41 I have a few in there and then, um. You can see only get the latest one, um, so only get like the last results. 4:50 Uh, those are all optional. I would leave the older blind, just hit continue and it will get the results. And then, you know, whenever there are new results, they, um, uh, they should go into here. 5:03 And it should automatically update if it doesn't, then there are other workarounds you can use. So then this is what the profiles look like. 5:12 You have these phantom buster rackets in here, you can add all of these columns if you want. Then in here you can filter for, you know, your ICP if you want, or you could say okay only new connections will fit my ICP. 5:26 So you can say only new connections will fit my ICP, they go to my CRM or to my campaigns or whatever. 5:31 You can already do it in here before you get started, so you could say only, you know, uhm, people with the job title, like founder, CEO and their job title. 5:42 Uhm, and in these and those industries only get me those or you can get more advanced and you can set, you know, the same thing up with the sales navigator export and then you just filter for your ICP and first connections on Sales navigator and then that is your source. 6:01 So bunch of different options you can use as a first source, but this is the basic workflow that you can use and then get all your connections in here. 6:11 And from here, you can just take the take the next steps.
